As you know, tulip season in the Netherlands is the most popular time of year for tourists!
Usually, the stunning fields of tulips are at their peak between mid-April and early May (12 April – 06 May approximately).
The actual days vary every year, so we can never give a 100% guarantee to guests that they will see them (but chances are highest in this window of time). In early Spring, there are also many other flowers in bloom, such as daffodils, hyacinths and more.
In addition, we can take clients to the stunning Keukenhof gardens and some other smaller,
off-the-beaten-track locations to see tulips or other flowers.
We have prepared this overview of the main tulip tours we’ll be offering in 2023 to plan for our clients.
Please note that these days in April and May get booked up very quickly.
Tulip Tour Option 1: 7-hour Tulips Galore Tour
Primary Tour Locations: Kop van Noord Holland + Beemster Polder + Schermerhorn.
In tulip season, we offer a private tulip tour with our trusted partner in Netherlands, where you can experience Holland’s prettiest, most vibrant flower fields in the northwest of the country, called
the Kop van Noord Holland.
We will take you through the UNESCO World Heritage site of the Beemster with its reclaimed land and polders to the largest tulip fields in the world, where you will learn everything about Netherlands
signature flower.
In the fields, you can take in all the striking colors, and capture the most colorful photos their friends
and family will ever see. Enjoy a relaxed lunch in a quaint town along the route.
And the day ends with a visit to a working windmill in Schermerhorn before going back to Amsterdam.
Tulip Tour Option 2: 5-hour Tulips Galore Tour
Primary Tour Locations: Kop van Noord Holland
This tour is similar to Tulip Tour Option 1, but shorter. It does not include a relaxed lunch or visit to the windmill, but guests will leave with their tulip wishes fulfilled!
Choices for this tour are in the morning 8:00am-1:00pm, or in the afternoon from 3:00-8:00pm.
Tulip Tour Option 3: 8-hour Tulip Mania
Primary Tour Locations: Keukenhof Gardens + Kop van Noord Holland + Anna Pawlona Polder Garden or Organic Tulip Farm.
Early in the morning around 8/8:30, you will depart your hotel in Amsterdam and head to the world-famous Keukenhof gardens. After exploring the Keukenhof for approximately 2 hours, you will be driven to the largest tulip fields in the world in Kop van Noord Holland, away from the tourists.
Along the way, enjoy a nice lunch in a quaint Dutch town. Once you arrive at the tulip fields, you will
be swept away by the incredible array of colors. You will have plenty of time to admire them and take photos between them.
After this, guests choose to visit either the off-the-beaten-track Anna Pawlona gardens, or visit an
organic tulip farm where you may even get to taste an actual biological tulip and determine if they are as good as they look!
This tour takes approximately 8 hours.
Tulip Tour Option 4: 8-hour Tulips & Giethoorn Tour
Primary Tour Locations: Noordoost Polder, Urk, Giethoorn This tulip tour takes clients to another Dutch region full of stunning tulip fields that will undoubtedly delight all.
After taking in the spectacular tulips, you will travel to the lovely village of Giethoorn. It is sometimes called the Venice of North because of its canals and cute wooden bridges. However, unlike Venice (or Amsterdam), this little 800-year-old town’s very peaceful and remote, perfect for relaxing walks.
If you want some action, you can go on a canal tour or rent your own whisper (electric) boat or
kayak!
Enjoy lunch in Giethoorn itself, or at the nearby old fishing villages of Elburg, Urk or Blokzijl. If time permits, you can explore one or more of these villages as well before making the 1.5 hour journey back to Amsterdam.
