Amsterdam has more bikes than people and that only inside the city there are 400 kilometers of separate cycling paths. Amsterdam is the city of bikes! And by cruising the city on two wheels, you will feel like a real local!
Amsterdam can be also very busy and messy, and that’s why our private guides want to take care of you. We will navigate the city and show you how to cycle through Amsterdam like a pro.
We have some suggestions for your bike tour in Amsterdam. We can go through some must see areas, take you to more quiet areas and give you an impression of the countryside by visiting surrounding villages.
In the City
As you might already know, Amsterdam is a compact city filled with intrepid cyclists. If you don’t have much time in our city and want to know all about it or if you like the adrenaline rush, this is a tour for you. In a few hours you will get an overall idea of the city.
During this private tour, you will see the most iconic sights of our city, like the Museum Square (where the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh are located), Dam Square and a traditional Dutch windmill. Together with your private guide, you will cycle along the canal ring. It’s the most beautiful area in town! But not everything is about the highlights. You will be delighted by the beauty of some laid back areas like the Jordaan. It’s a residential neighborhood with beautiful old houses, cute canals and fairytale-like bridges. There we really enjoy visiting some hofjes, old hidden courtyards that allow you to travel back in time. A ferry will take you to Amsterdam Noord which is the most fun part for us! We will visit the NDSM, an old wharf which nowadays hosts creative design and art projects, surrounded by super cool cafes and restaurants. We will pick one of them to have a delicious drink in while enjoying the view over the city.
Amsterdam countryside bike tour
During this bike tour, we would love to take you to the north part of Amsterdam, where we can visit new projects that are taking place in this completely different, old industrial spacious area in our city. We will cycle over the Nieuwedammerdijk with ancient wooden houses to Durgerdam. Since everything in Durgerdam occurs at a slow pace and in a homely manner, there is still a unique feeling of centuries-old Waterland harbor village along the former Southern Sea.
If you plan to visit Amsterdam in spring, do not miss a Bike tour to the tulip fields from Amsterdam!
