Day 1

Arrival in St.Petersburg.

Day 2

Breakfast at hotel. City sightseeing tour

The city tour of St.Petersburg includes visiting a lot of places of interest. The Vasilievsky Island with St.Peter&Paul’s fortress are used to be the first destination of the excursion. The fortress is the city’s oldest building, it was founded by Peter the Great who also planned to transfer the country’s capital from Moscow to Petersburg, and became the official necropolis of the reigning dynasty. Nearby there is the Winter Palace, the Emperor’s official residence. Besides, the most prominent architectural monuments of the city include the Admiralty, Kazansky and St.Isaak’s cathedrals. One of the most beautiful constructions is Smolny – group of buildings on the bank of the Neva River, established to provide the pitch needed for shipbuilding. Then Elizaveta Petrovna who although fond of entertainment and dancing, was also devoutly religious, chose this place for the Resureccion New Maiden Convent (Novodevichy Convent). You will also see the Aurora Cruiser – named after the Aurora fregate and that became from the 7th of November of 1948 the monument of the October revolution located near Petrovskaya embankment of the Neva River.

Tasting of Russian vodka with traditional appetizer and stories about the history of Russian Vodka. Performance of folklore ensemble and learning how to play Russian musical instruments.

Lunch at “Restaurant” Restaurant

During lunch the group will see how traditional Russian dishes are cooked and will get the receipts.

Hermitage tour. This is one of the world’s largest art museums. Housed primarily in the Imperial Winter Palace, the exposition fills more than 350 halls. The enormous collection represents the entirety of Western European art, with rare works by Rembrandt, Rubens, Picasso, Matisse, and others. The museum also contains vast Egyptian, Prehistoric, Russian, and Oriental sections, as well ass contemporary-minded temporary exhibitions.

Dinner at “At Gorchakov’s” Restaurant. A classic restaurant in the style of the 19th century. Restaurant is located in the former mansion of the Princes Gorchakov in the historic centre of St.Petersburg.  Live piano music is played in the evenings.

Enroute to the hotel the group will have unique chance to see beautiful illumination of Palace’s Bridge and Nevsky prospect.

Day 3

Breakfast at hotel.

Departure to Pushkin town ( Tzar’s Village). www.pushkin-town.net  .  Excursion to magnificent Catherine’s Palace. During the excursion guests will see world famous Amber Room. The palace-and- park ensemble of Tzar’s Village – a former suburban residence of the Russian emperors – is a fascinating monument of the architecture and gardening arts of the 18th and 19th centuries.

The compositional center is the Catherine’s Palace where superbly restored interiors house unique collections of furniture, porcelain and much, much more. Tzar’s Village is the most favorite residence of all Russian Tzars. They lived here, arranged receptions and splendid balls, gave birth to their children and died.

Troika Ride in Pavlovsk park with blinis and red caviar. The group is entertained by the folklore group.

“Podvorye” was established in 1993. Today the restaurant can seat up to 400 visitors. Most visitors are fascinated by the simplicity of the Russian wooden architecture and by the free and easy atmosphere inside. One cannot expect to find here the ornate features that are typical of classic restaurants. Instead, there is laughter, music, simple and hearty Russian dishes, bearskins and a spacious courtyard.Frequent visitors know that, not only is the restaurant staff proud of the wide variety of Russian cuisine dishes on the menu, but also that the staff often creates its own new products and drinks.

Return to the city centre.

Gala dinner with Gipsy show at Demidov Restaurant www.rest-demidov.narod.ru .  The Demidov Restaurant is situated in one of the most beautiful places of old St. Petersburg in the Fontanka River embankment in front of the St. Michael’s Castle In the evenings the Demidov Restaurant provides with Russian and Gipsy romance show or classical music. Aswell there’s a theatrical fancy-dress show organized in the style of imperial palace festivals of 18 century with such characters as Peter the Great and Catherine II.
