Day 1: Arrival in Bangkok

Day 9: Can Tho, Cai Rang Floating Market & Chau Doc

Visit the Cai Rang floating market by boat before driving toward the Cambodian border to Chau Doc. Explore Sam Mountain, visit ornate temples and pagodas, see views toward Cambodia, and experience the floating homes and fish farms of the Mekong River.

Continue by cyclo through the Old Quarter before boarding the Victoria Express overnight train to Lao Cai.

Day 18: Lao Cai, Bac Ha, Coc Ly & Sapa

Day 20: Sapa to Hanoi by Victoria Express

The hotel provided extra blankets. We had to sleep in our warm clothes. Sapa is located in North so climate is completely different. On another side, going there in summer will entail more heat in other parts of Vietnam so you can’t win. Hard to get there. Victoria Express. It is not Orient Express quality… Train ride while very comfortable in 2 pax deluxe cabin, and entertaining (local people also used train, traveling with their chickens, etc! But very long train ride. The government is planning to build airport in Lao Cai so it will be easier to get there in the future. “.

Day 21: Hanoi to Bangkok

The Lake is spectacular. It is authentic area. People are not DRESSED UP in national costumes for tourists. They live without pretensions there. Almost biblical feel. The lake is 5-10 ft deep. Watched the fisherman catching the fish and spearing it.. Saw Locksmith making scissors. Yangon was very interesting. We enjoyed sightseeing. “.
